Output Management
Output Management (OM) describes the generation, capture and management of electronic or physical documents as well as their distribution to all intended recipients within or outside of a company. Output Management is part of an Enterprise Content Management (ECM). One of the main goals of the OM is the optimisation of printing costs. By providing and distributing information in an appropriate format (PDF, fax, e-mail, print-out etc.), suited to the recipient's needs, unnecessary print-outs are avoided and, thus, material and maintenance costs are lowered.
The integration of a central print center, which receives the documents, executes management and planning processes, as well as distributes and supervises print jobs, allows for greater transparency of print processes. This makes the processes easier to follow.
