New Open Source Version 3.3.3

Version 3.3.3 is the new GPL Open Source version of the Document Management and ECM System. For the first time, this version includes an easy setup program, which makes the installation possible for non-IT experts.

The licence fee free DMS includes a completely new OCR engine and picks up some of the functions from the Enterprise version, e.g. the archived queries. Scans can be processed in the same way as Office documents, PDFs, e-mails, photos and many other file types. The interface is - typically bitfarm - intuitive and constructed more or less self-explanatory. Thus, users who are used to Windows can start being productive with the system without long training and practice times. The free Document Management version is currently only available for Windows Client / Server and can be downloaded free of charge. The support for the GPL version is restricted to the forum, though, which can be found on sourceforge.

For anyone who wants to use a DMS in business settings and requires advanced support can make use of the Enterprise version, which is also licence fee free. This version the also includes the support for workflows, a much more accurate and faster OCR engine, Active-Directory support, a granular rights system, enhanced interfaces and much more: GPL-Enterprise-Vergleich.pdf. The Document Management System in the Enterprise Class, thus, fulfils demanding requirements and fits into a small budget nevertheless. For mid-tier businesses, in corporate fields, but also in small companies chances are given for implementing an optimal system adapted to individual requirements, which can hold up to any comparison with much more expensive systems.
